The head waiter, Roland, sets a fine example for his wait staff and expects them to treat all guests as if they were family. We went back multiple times and requested him specifically due to his passion for his work. Our waiter, whose name began with a “G” and I can’t remember the spelling, was amazing. The best meal we had was at the French restaurant. The hostesses at the buffet always greeted us with smiles and sat us quickly. Enoc, a new Concierge was extremely helpful, friendly, professional, and will be running this place one day! Fernando also in the Concierge department, who handled the luggage and stuff was also very friendly. The Pool Concierge, Mariana, was always smiling and asking if there was anything she could do. Room Service Manager, Adrian was awesome. Staff is friendly throughout the resort, no matter what department.Paths are narrow and wind in between buildings and by pools, so you’re in people’s way.

No clear path from point A to point B, and it isn’t clearly marked on how to get to things. The beach area is small and there isn’t a lot of loungers. There isn’t enough staff to service the beach area and the Preferred Club pool area for refreshments, so get used to getting your own, even though this is one of the perks you pay extra for.He still itches and it has been weeks since we were there! My husband is on his 3rd antibiotic and itch cream. The bug bites we got here itched more than any other bite we have ever had. (Probably should have started with this one!) Sand fleas are everywhere, and we were attacked at one of the RESTAURANTS, it wasn’t directly on the beach, but it is next to it and open concept. The food offered in the Preferred Club lounge is not fresh and is a very small selection not worth venturing over to the lounge for at all. There isn’t any special designation for Preferred Club members so anyone in the resort, AND the sister resort next door can benefit from the extras that Preferred Club members pay a premium for.The spa they advertise is actually located at their sister resort right next door and is located on the third floor with a lot of stairs, so it isn’t convenient to use or get to.(One of these, men have to wear long pants.) There are only 2 restaurants that offer inside seating with air conditioning, but seating is limited and is still quite warm inside. The buffet restaurant is completely open, so no air conditioning and no relief from the heat, and the native birds fly in and out as they please, leaving droppings on chairs and tables, etc. There is only one buffet restaurant that is located on the far end of the resort so if you aren’t staying on the Preferred Club side, it is a bit inconvenient. And good luck trying to find a lounge chair to lie on if you like to sleep in or get back from an excursion there aren’t a lot of those either. They request each guest to only have 1 pool/beach towel, and by 2-3pm each day, they ran out of towels anyway. The other pool, which isn’t Preferred Club is located near the construction so they crank the music up to combat the sounds, and it is away from the beach area. The other Preferred Club pool is really small, I mean, REALLY small and there aren’t any steps, just a ladder so if you have any disability, this pool is unusable. The main pool and lazy river in the Preferred Club area was right in the middle of the construction area, and also had debris from the construction in it so it wasn’t being used by any guests.throughout the majority of the small resort, including the Preferred Club are that wasn’t closed. You could hear construction sounds, hammering, sawing, etc.(You should call to check what the status is now.) The Preferred Club Ocean View Swim up building was entirely closed due to construction. My husband and I stayed here the week of December 12th for 7 nights, so this is a recent review.
